Pollok found their youthful Dundee opponents the perfect opposition to bounce back from the bitter disappointment of losing to Spartans a week previous, even if Jim Sinnet was given a major selection headache ahead of the tie. Five players were ruled out through a mixture of injury, holiday and suspension so Mark Booth was recalled to the starting line-up to play at sweeper in a 3-5-2 formation as the pack was slightly reshuffled. Both Kris Robertson and Andy McClay were making their 100th Lok appearance while another milestone was reached in the second half when Stephen Cuddihy became the first player born in the 1990s to appear for Lok.

Lok's followers didn't have long to wait until the opening goal, Calum Hardie threading the ball through to DAVID MCGEOWN via a deflection off Ross McFarlane, and he first-timed a low strike past Mitchell with only 2 minutes on the clock. It was 2-0 in the 7th minute when the outstanding Essler's corner was volleyed by DAVID TURNBULL into the net from the edge of the 6 yard box and Lok were by now threatening to run riot against a side out of their depth. Lok were very much in charge and were making the most of Craigie Park's undulating and wide-open spaces.

Lok went three up in the 15th minute after Essler received a lay off from a throw and delivered a fine deep cross from the left onto the head of BRYAN DINGWALL who made no mistake, though the marking of Junior football's hottest marksman was criminal to say the least. Despite the lead, there were elements of sloppiness about Pollok at the back, and in the 18th minute Craigie should have pulled one back when a careless Wingate clearance landed at the feet of Paul Allan at the edge of the box, but the former Coupar Angus winger made a hash of his gift, with Robertson making a superb reaction stop. Dingwall then shot over for Lok after a Newall dummy and in 34 minutes Turnbull headed a well-directed aerial pass from McClay over the bar.

The fourth goal wasn't long in coming though, and McFarlane's clumsy tackle on Dingwall led to his name being taken by ref David McGeachie as well as giving RICHIE NEWALL the opportunity to curl a free-kick round the Craigie wall and past the acrobatic efforts of stopper John Cairney on the line. Pollok made it five shortly after when in the 38th minute Hardie was felled in the box and ANDY ESSLER stepped up to bag his first competitive goal of the season.

Alan Waddell came on for Turnbull after the re-start and it continued to be one-way traffic though Craigie keeper Ryan Mitchell increasingly resembled Crockett at the Alamo, fighting a losing battle against an unrelenting and overwhelming invading army. Within a minute of the second half getting underway, Dingwall cut the ball back from the byeline to Essler who powered a header goalwards, only for Cairney to get enough on the ball to put it over the bar. McGeown fired over the bar moments after Samara wasted an effort for Craigie, but Lok did add another in the 62nd minute when Essler's cross was headed by Hardie towards RICHIE NEWALL and he drilled a low shot past the dispairing Mitchell for 6-0.

The introduction of Brian MacKay gave Craigie further trouble on the left, with the tricky winger showing us exactly what we missed in the Spartans matches. Within a minute of coming on, he floated in a cross from the left that was headed on by a Craigie defender, but picked up by Hardie. He cleverly bought himself a yard of space to send in a perfect cross from the right for Newall to head on, and at the far post up popped the unmarked BRYAN DINGWALL to tap the ball into the net from a yard out.

Lok had other chances to extend the lead as the game wore on, but there seemed more chance of the booking count increasing than anything else, with Alan Waddell becoming Lok's 3rd man carded after he failed to heed the ref's instructions to walk away from one flare up and further provoked his opponent with what appeared to be a a 'hey big lugs' impression. Craigie's fiery teen striker Josh Perera then talked himself into a second booking as the home side found themselves seven down in goals and a man down on the park.

The final goal eventually arrived in the 86th minute. McGeown flighted the ball to MacKay whose cross was poorly cleared by Craigie and ended up pinballing around the area for a few moments. Dingwall then picked up possession and was afforded the time to run with the ball under no real pressure then deliver an accurate low drive across Mitchell into his bottom right corner. Final score 8-0 and Lok will seldom have such an easy afternoon as this.
